My Quest For Affordable Products

Everyone in our society partaces in the Beauty- and Wellness- industry, anyone from celebrities using products that cost the same as your rent to the gamer who only uses 5-in-1 Shampoo from the nearest grocerystore. Products range from costing 21 000kr(1800€, 1500£, 2000$)[1], and most likely more, to just 30kr(3€, 2£, 3$)[2]. Due to many different reasons a lot of people gravitate towards the cheaper products simply for cost-effectiveness.

What Am I Doing Here?

My biggest Problem looking for cheaper products was how hard it was to find reliable or informative reviews. A lot of the Beauty influencers posting about “Cheap products that ACTUALLY works” , post about products not available in Norway(at least not without INSANE import cost) and that defeats the purpose of being “cheap”. So being done trawling the internet and only finding dead-ends I chose to take matters into my own hands and do it myself.

I intend to mke the reviews I wish I could find when looking for products. Here are the questions i wish to answer in my posts:

  • What is the product supposed to do and does it meet these claims?

  • What ingredients are in the product and what do they do?

  • And most importantly: How was my experience using the product?

So what products do I intend to write about? Well, mostly Skin Care for the face, but my skin does cover the rest of my body as well so I will also cover some Body Care(though my need is less) and finally I will look for Hair Care products that fit my hair since it has been neglected for some time despite me having dyed it purple for 4 years.

What Do I Need?

We all have our own needs and requirements to cover, but I as an individual can olny cover my own needs; however I hope you can find some useful information in my reviews even if my needs are different from yours.

With that out of the way, here are my needs:

  • I have generally dry and sensitive skin, I am not prone to acne

  • I have a very sensitive scalp, but do not struggle with dandruff

  • My hair is dry from bleach and have a loose waves that need structure and definition

And now over to my requirements:

  • I would prefer products to stay under 200kr(17€, 15£, 20$)

  • If a product is only under the 200kr limit as a “Travel size” it does not count(It is not cost effective)

  • Products MUST be able to do their job ALONE(No double-cleansing a bare face)

  • “All natural” or “All chemical” does not matter to me, if it works it works.

Why Should You Listen To Me?

You shouldn’t, at least not blindly. I am not a dermatologist or a doctor or a cosmotoogist or a chemist. I am Just me. I am an autistic woman whose highest education is Upper- Secondary school/High-School. I work in Furniture re-upholstery and have no qualifications to talk about skincare. But I have my autism, a special interest in skincare, hyper-focus and a thirst for factual and science-based knowledge. Trust me, there will be sources[3].

I hope you will give me a chance and read a post or two. My goal is to provide you with as much unbiased information as I can(might not be able to promise that for my personal experience) and I hope you find some useful information here to lead you further on your quest to find the products for you.

~Friendly regards, Dana
